Terms of Service
Last updated · August 24, 2026
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
These terms govern your use of the Skybox app at app.skyboxmail.de and this website, operated by:
Marty Stephan
Landauer Str. 53
66482 Zweibrücken
Germany
Email: hello@skyboxmail.de
By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.
2. The service
Skybox is an email, contacts, and calendar client. It connects to accounts you already have with other providers (e.g. Google, Microsoft, or any IMAP/SMTP, CardDAV, or CalDAV service) and lets you use them through one interface. Skybox does not provide mailboxes itself — your email remains hosted by your provider, and your contractual relationship with that provider is unaffected. Skybox is currently free of charge.
Skybox runs in the browser and, using the same account and the same servers, as an app for desktop and mobile. Where an app is obtained through a third-party store, that store’s own terms apply to the download; these terms govern your use of the service itself.
3. Your account
You must be at least 16 years old to use Skybox. Keep your password and two-factor codes safe and your account information accurate — you are responsible for activity that happens through your account. Tell us promptly at hello@skyboxmail.de if you believe your account has been compromised.
4. Your content
Your emails, contacts, and calendars are yours. We claim no ownership of and no license to your content beyond what is technically necessary to display and transmit it at your request, as described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Skybox to:
- send spam, bulk unsolicited mail, or phishing messages,
- distribute malware or other harmful content,
- break the law or infringe the rights of others,
- violate the terms of the mail, contact, or calendar providers you connect,
- probe, overload, or disrupt the service or access it in automated ways outside the interfaces we provide for that purpose (API keys and connected apps).
6. Third-party services
The providers you connect through Skybox (e.g. Google or Microsoft) have their own terms and policies, which apply to your accounts with them. We are not a party to those agreements and are not responsible for those services, including changes or restrictions they impose on third-party clients like Skybox.
7. Availability and changes to the service
Skybox is under active development. We work to keep it available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and features may change, be added, or be removed as the product evolves. If we ever discontinue the service, we will give you reasonable advance notice so you can export your data. Because your email always remains at your provider, you can continue using it with any other client at any time.
8. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body, or health, and under mandatory statutory provisions such as product liability law. In cases of simple negligence, we are liable only for breaches of essential contractual obligations (obligations whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose fulfilment you may regularly rely), and in such cases only for foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract. Any further liability is excluded. Please note that Skybox is provided free of charge.
9. Termination
You can stop using Skybox and delete your account in the app at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially violate these terms — where reasonable, we will warn you first. The right of both parties to terminate for good cause remains unaffected.
10. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms as the service evolves. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. If you do not agree with the changes, you may terminate your account before they take effect; continuing to use Skybox after that date constitutes acceptance only where the change is reasonable for you, taking your interests into account.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Federal Republic of Germany. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country in which you habitually reside remain unaffected.
